The World in Which I Live

Musings from my life – poetry and prose

Early every morning
with the breaking of the dawn
with resolution rising
I vow to end the song

The daylight brings new longing
to hear you once again
your sweet voice keeps singing
a song that will not end

The sun sets each evening
the sky brilliantly flares
the song so subtly changes
your voice no longer near

Stars alight the heavens
I lay myself to sleep
the distant song of yesterday
offers no respite.
