The World in Which I Live

Musings from my life – poetry and prose

Hidden by a veil of secrecy, love lingers
through pretense of casual acquaintance our lives demand.
In your eyes I see it still and quiet, preserved.

Across the vast expanse of time, love lingers
defying convention and calling us back to another life.
When our love was sacred and free for all to see.

Separated by a million miles, love lingers
unable to touch, but always held in heart and mind
I long for a time when we find solace in our embrace.

Despite the life we chose, love lingers
nothing I say or see or do to defy my heart’s truth,
Nothing can ever change the fact that, love lingers.
